National Schools Campaign Term Time is to take a stand against the violence faced by an increasing number of young people in the UK.
The lobby group has organised a march through Liverpool City Centre on Sunday 31 August in a quest to reduce violent crime in the UK.
The march involving hundreds of peaceful protestors will begin at 12 noon from the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral’s Piazza. It will follow a route along Hope Street, Mount Pleasant, Lime Street, St John’s Lane, Whitechapel, Crosshall Street, Dale Street and Castle Street. It will finish at Derby Square at 2pm.
The march is being held in the memory of all the lives lost due to senseless acts of violence this year. In 2007 nearly 14,000 people were taken to hospital for injuries caused by knives and other sharp weapons. Some 446 of these victims were under 14.
Term Time lobbies for tougher sentencing on violent crime and for the increase of funding for youth organisations which offer alternatives for the youth of Liverpool.

I would also like to pass on my thanks to George Williams who has given so much towards the project.
He should feel very proud, I just hope that more people take note of what this project is trying to achieve.
It’s up to us all, parents and children, to end this trend of knife crime. I would also like to thank the players from Legion Boys football team who attended. Shrek was really proud of you.
