Groups of Girl Guides, Brownies and Rainbows are facing closure in Wales because there are not enough volunteer leaders to help run them.

Waiting lists for the groups are becoming really long in the Vale of Glamorgan after nearby centres have closed.

Lucy Ladner, a Rainbow leaders, said: “It’s a shame that we may have to shut after so many years. All we need is someone who can give a little of their time and give something back to the community.”

Brownie leader Kirsty Elleby, whose group has been running for more than 55 years, said: “We haven’t been able to open since the children went back to school. If nobody comes forward then that’s it.”
